Mandy & Ted’s Wedding Day
Mandy and Ted decided to get married in Moeraki as they spend a lot of time in Hamden at their holiday home and just love the place. This was 3rd time lucky for Mandy and Ted who had tried on several occasions to tie the knott but with one thing or the other getting in the way it hadn’t eventuated. We arrived at Moeraki on the Thursday for the rehearsal to an almighty gale and freezing temperatures. I was pleasantly surprised to wake the next morning to the sun shining and the birds chirping. It was an early start as Ted and Mandy had decided to get their wedding party photos done before the ceremony. We had a fun morning – spending time at the beach, and then onto Oamaru before getting back for the ceremony just along from the Moeraki Boulders Cafe. We managed to get most of the way through the ceremony before getting a little sprinkling from above. The reception was held at the Moeraki Boulders Cafe – which has the most beautiful outlook. Thanks for sharing your special day with me Mandy and Ted, it was an absolute pleasure and I wish you a lifetime of happiness xx
Many thanks to all involved on the day:

Newborn Photography
Little Oliver came to visit from Dunedin at 11 day’s New. He was such a little cutie. Mum – Claire and Dad – Hayden were pretty smitten (and so they should be) Oliver had given them a little cause for concern – but arrived safe and sound. Here is a little selection of photos taken at Oliver’s photoshoot.
Dad requested a photo of little Oliver in his boot!! This is the result.

Baby Nico
What a delightful little man Nico was. My newborn photography sessions are usually done within the first 2 weeks. This is not always possible and sometimes it is a last minute thing to get photos done. Nico was 8 weeks old when he came to me, so I wasn’t sure if we would get to many “newborn” poses, as by 8 weeks they tend to not be quite so curled up, and are a lot more sensitive to touch. But Nico was a superstar! We got him nice and sleepy and the photos were beautiful. He is such a cute baby! Nice and chubby, with beautiful olive skin and the most amazing long, dark eyelashes. He was a little big to fit into most of my props, but the simplistic photo’s are sometimes the best. I even one a Bronze award at the NZIPP Iris awards with one of Nico’s photos. Enjoy xx

Newborn Photography is such a passion for me. I still get excited with each and every session. I LOVE babies – just incase you couldn’t tell – But this was an extra special Newborn Photography session for me, as it was my cousin’s little girl. Meet little Anika and her precious family – Manu, Koren and big brother Tane. Thank’s for coming through from Dunedin for your photo shoot. It was such a pleasure to photograph your beautiful little family xx
Annika – fitting snuggly in Dad’s hands. xx
Iris Awards 2107Lisa Davidson Photography
Iris Awards
The annual Epson/NZIPP Iris Professional Photography Awards is New Zealand’s only professional photography competition. The aim of these print awards is to recognise and honour the best in contemporary photography from New Zealand and overseas professionals.
I find the Iris awards are a great way to push you outside your comfort zone and put you in front of other Professional Photographers to see how your doing. This year was so busy leading up to Iris I actually didn’t get a chance to do anything special just for Iris – but at the last minute went through my recent work and submitted some photos that I loved. I was pretty happy to come away with 3 Bronze awards. Here are my winning images. Thanks to all my clients that trust in me to document such special times in their lives. xx
WeddingSimon & Rose’s Wedding Day – Cromwell/WanakaLisa Davidson Photography
Simon & Rose married on the farm at Kidd Gully on a overcast day in March. Rose and her bridesmaids/bestman were so relaxed on the morning of the wedding, while Simon and his crew were busy running around, picking up chairs that were being blown over and moving the ceremony location slightly into an area out of the wind. Down in Cromwell we were a little oblivious to the wind as it was not blowing at all where we were. By the time we arrived at the ceremony the wind had calmed and the boys had everything sorted. It was a fantastic spot overlooking beautiful scenery.
The photo’s were all done around the farm. Time disappeared quickly, and then we headed back to the amazing reception area that they had created under the stars.
The reception area looked amazing. They had spent so much time creating this amazing setting for friends and family, and they were so lucky with the weather. Rose had made not one but three beautiful wedding cakes (they all looked amazing). They arrived to the reception by jet boats to the guest’s surprise.
Thank you so much Rose & Simon for sharing your day with me. I so enjoyed my time you all, and wish you all much happiness in your future together xx

New Zealand WeddingLarissa & Te Kohe’s WeddingLisa Davidson Photography
What a Wedding!
The wedding of Larrisa &Te Kohe took place on Larissa’s parents property in Alexandra. It was such a stunning setting and the day was filled with so much love and emotion. I found myself so wrapped up in listening to the speeches and wedding vows, I had to remind myself that I was there to do a job and get taking Photos!! The vows were so heartfelt and emotional, even Larissa’s Mum spoke so emotionally and the words – just so beautiful and full of meaning. T.K’s son Phoenix was also a special part of the day, and his kind caring nature was so evident as he stroked Larissa and T.k’s back when they got emotional during the wedding vows. The bridal party was a pretty stunning lineup – the girls all looked amazing – their dresses all different and so beautiful and the boys kept me on the go and very entertained. We had so much fun. Thank you Larissa and T.K for trusting me with the job of photographing your wedding day. It was such a pleasure to meet you both and I wish you all the best with your future life together xx Hope you enjoy this little preview of your day – and I will get them all on their way to you soon!
Such an amazing day – amazing people – fun times. Hope you have enjoyed this little sneak peek of the day. Thanks to all involved. xx
Lisa Davidson PhotographyA Beautiful testimonialWedding Photography
I Just wanted to share with you all a beautiful testimonial I received from one of the lovely couples I photographed on their wedding day in Wanaka this year…..
“Lisa from the moment we met you your warm thoughtful and gentle nature was comforting, especially at a time when things can be so stressful and you just need to know that all the hard work and months of planning will be captured in those few hours that your photographer is with us. You did so much more and delivered in every way. No mountain too hard to climb and no chopper to hard to hang out of to capture the magic that you presented us with only weeks later. A very big heartfelt thank you especially during such a personal tragic moment in time for you and your family. You are a true professional and so many friends and family have commented on your beautiful photos. I would have to say the slideshow and choice of music you put together was an Amazing and unexpected but very welcome surprise. Thank you Lisa, Blair and I cant wait to see the album and highly recommend you in every way.
Peta and Blair Collie
It is so so wonderful to get beautiful messages like this. I have the most amazing job and am very blessed to meet the most wonderful people along the way. It was such a pleasure to meet you both Peta and Blair and I think of you often. xx
