It is always a great feeling seeing your work rewarded amongst the best in the industry. Thank you for all my clients that trust in me to create beautiful images for them – this is what it is all about for me, but getting an award on top of making my clients happy is very rewarding and keeps my pushing to do my best.

Beautiful, simplistic newborn photo’s.
Well as much as we don’t like being shut in our homes in Lockdown – It is giving me a little time to catch up with things that I have let slip. Blogs are one thing that I really just don’t find the time for – and I must say Im not very good at. Happy to post photo’s but Im terrible when it comes to writing. Mind you who needs words when there are such adorable newborn photos to look at. Here is the beautiful Poppy. Enjoy xx

The portrait Masters 2018
This year has had many first’s for me. It has been an amazing year, and one of the most memorable and exciting times was meeting my biggest mentor and most amazing photographer and educator – Sue Bryce – I was lucky enough to spend 2 days with her and a group of amazing photographers from around the world. This pushed me outside my comfort zone – especially photographing while Sue was watching!! – talk about feeling the pressure – but really I couldn’t have been put more at ease and feel in love with what i do even more.
Then the entries opened for The portrait Masters – which is a world wide Awards and Accreditation program. This year had the most amazing panel of International Judges! So I decided to put my work out there and be judged! The Portrait Masters Conference hosted by Sue Bryce which ran for 3 days in Phoenix, Arizona was were the winners were announced live. I was sitting at home watching a live feed at my computer when the Newborn Category came on – and I couldn’t believe it when my image came up in the Top 10 images. With 7000 entries in this competition I was so blown away. Unfortunately I must not have filled things in properly and Instead of Lisa Davidson Photography being announced and seen by thousands it just has my name as Lisa….. Lesson learnt (make sure you fill everything in well. Anyway not only was I in the top 10 Newborn Photographers I received 1 silver and 8 Bronze awards. So it pays to put yourself out there every now and again, get over the fear, and do it anyway – as this time it was so worth it. Here are my images that I entered – each one winning an award.

Newborn Photography
Little Oliver came to visit from Dunedin at 11 day’s New. He was such a little cutie. Mum – Claire and Dad – Hayden were pretty smitten (and so they should be) Oliver had given them a little cause for concern – but arrived safe and sound. Here is a little selection of photos taken at Oliver’s photoshoot.
Dad requested a photo of little Oliver in his boot!! This is the result.

Baby Nico
What a delightful little man Nico was. My newborn photography sessions are usually done within the first 2 weeks. This is not always possible and sometimes it is a last minute thing to get photos done. Nico was 8 weeks old when he came to me, so I wasn’t sure if we would get to many “newborn” poses, as by 8 weeks they tend to not be quite so curled up, and are a lot more sensitive to touch. But Nico was a superstar! We got him nice and sleepy and the photos were beautiful. He is such a cute baby! Nice and chubby, with beautiful olive skin and the most amazing long, dark eyelashes. He was a little big to fit into most of my props, but the simplistic photo’s are sometimes the best. I even one a Bronze award at the NZIPP Iris awards with one of Nico’s photos. Enjoy xx

Newborn Photography is such a passion for me. I still get excited with each and every session. I LOVE babies – just incase you couldn’t tell – But this was an extra special Newborn Photography session for me, as it was my cousin’s little girl. Meet little Anika and her precious family – Manu, Koren and big brother Tane. Thank’s for coming through from Dunedin for your photo shoot. It was such a pleasure to photograph your beautiful little family xx

Blair & Peta – Wanaka weddingLisa Davidson Photography
Blair and Peta’s beautiful Wanaka Wedding
From the moment I arrived at Blair’s parents home in Wanaka to meet and discuss Peta and Blair’s upcoming wedding, I was made to feel so totally welcome. Blair’s parents Fergus and Lynette had just completed building their beautiful new home in Wanaka, and it was such a special spot to celebrate such an amazing wedding.
I knew when I first meet Peta and Blair that this was going to be a beautiful wedding, surrounded by amazing family and friends. They were such a neat couple. Kind, respectful, caring – and with the coolest kids!!
The wedding took place down at the outlet in Wanaka with the groom and groomsmen arriving by jet boat, and the girls making an amazing entrance by helicopter. It was a stunning setting, and with it being the first visit to New Zealand for a lot of the guests – I think they were pretty blown away by our amazing country. After the ceremony we flew to the top of the mountain for some fun and photos with the wedding party.
Blair and Peta I wish you both a long life together filled with love, laughter and much happiness. I so enjoyed our time together. You both have such a kind caring nature, and I hope to catch up with you again when your back in NZ xx
